RAWALPINDI, Sept 28: A group of the residents of Bakra Mandi staged a protest against what they called the delayed registration of a robbery case by R.A police in which a shopkeeper was shot and injured and also robbed of cash and valuables on Thursday night. According to eye witnesses, the protesters blocked the traffic on the road and also set fire on the old tires.

Mean while, Aftab Hussain, the robbery victim, was removed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) where he is said to be in stable condition.

Aftab Hussain was at his shop when three unidentified gunmen forced into the shop and asked him to hand over the cash and cell phones. On resistance, Aftab was shot and injured. However, the robbers snatched the cash and cell phones and escaped from the scene. Due to the poor response of police to the incident, the people of the area took to the streets and chanted slogans against them.— Staff Reporter
