NEW DELHI, Sept 27: Indian Army Chief General J.J. Singh has sought de-classification of records of 1965, 1971 and 1962 wars “so that soldiers and others could draw lessons from these conflicts”.
“War histories of 1962 Sino-Indian conflict, and 1965 and 1971 India-Pakistan wars should be made public,” he said on the occasion of release of a coffee table book on army titled “Army, An Illustrated View”.
J.J. Singh, who is going to be retried after three days, said more historians and experts on military affairs should write on these wars. He said the government did not make public official records of the 1962 war with China, even after 45 years.—APP
