LAHORE, Sept 27: A top official of the Pakistan Salvation Army was shot dead allegedly by his subordinate on Thursday evening.

The Civil Lines division SP said 45-year-old Norwegian Colonel Boobarick, who was operations chief of the Salvation headquarters in Lahore, was found dead in his office with one bullet wound in his belly.

The police reached the spot and sealed the whole building in an attempt to capture the suspect, he said.

The SP suspected another employee of the Salvation Army, Major Mark Younas Jospeh, might have killed his boss as an inquiry was being conducted by the slain official against him in a land fraud case.

“We have taken the suspect in protective custody for investigation,” the SP said, adding the accused was going to be fired from job for his alleged involvement in property fraud.

Police registered a murder case against the suspect on the complaint of another employee of Salvation Army Major Peter.
