Protesters storm Hesco office

Published September 28, 2007

MIRPURKHAS, Sept 27: Protesters burnt furniture of a Hesco complaint centre and hurled stones on the bungalows and quarters of Hesco officials on Thursday following suspension of power supply to some areas of the city at the time of Sehri.

Unannounced power loadshedding for three to five hours, including the times of Sehri, Iftar and Travih prayers, has become a daily routine in the city.

Thursday’s power failure in the areas of Satellite Town enraged the consumers who entered the premises of Hesco operation division office and attacked the complaint centre.

When staff of the complaint centre saw the angry people, they escaped from the office. The protesters burnt furniture of the complaint centre and raised slogans against the Hesco officers. They threw stones on the bungalows of Hesco officers situated on the premises of the Hesco office. The protesters demanded of the Hesco chief to immediately end unannounced load-shedding.
