PML-N leaders and lawyers released
GUJRANWALA, Sept 27: Authorities released Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and District Bar Association (DBA) leaders on Thursday.
Police released PML-N District President Mehmood Bashir Virk, secretary general Rana Amir Afzal, DBA Secretary General Aamir Munir Begri, lawyers Shabbir Gujjar and Saifullah Cheema, arrested in their houses on Wednesday.
Lawyers’ detention provoked the DBA and it took out a procession and entered the central police office. They chanted slogans against the police.
Earlier, the DBA held a meeting and set Friday as deadline to the administration and police to release all workers and lawyers or face consequences.
