GUJRANWALA, Sept 26: Girls protested against the government for allegedly depriving them of admission to a nursing course at the civil hospital and preferring those for the purpose who have passed FSc.

They demanded the government should reserve 50 per cent seats in the nursing course for females who had passed matriculation with science subjects and required marks. Parents said the administration invited applications for admission to the nursing course from girls who had passed the matriculation. Later, the administration gave admission to girls who had passed FSc. Dr Ali Muhammad said admission to the course would be given on merit. — Correspondent
