Clarke is new ECB chairman

LONDON, Sept 25: Somerset chairman Giles Clarke will succeed ICC President-elect David Morgan as chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the governing body confirmed on Tuesday.

Clarke, currently the head of the ECB’s marketing committee, beat Morgan’s former deputy Mike Soper in a vote by the English counties.

The new chairman is expected to battle for a bigger share of England’s revenues to be allocated to the counties.—AFP
