VEHAR, Sept 25: Local police on Tuesday detained 10 opposition activists and workers while raids for the arrest of others were on.
During the search operation, the house of those wanted men who had gone under ground were sealed.

LAYYAH: City police raided the houses of former PML-N MPA Abdul Shakoor Sevag, former naib tehsil nazim Abid Anwar Alvi and senior party worker Abu Syed Khan during the search operation and allegedly misbehaved with their family members in their absence.
Police arrested Farooq Ahmed, district president of PML-N youth wing, Khalid Iqbal and former Layyah naib tehsil nazim Hashim Hussain Sahu advocate.
However, a local judge granted bail to Farooq Ahmed and Khalid Iqbal and on the pressure of local lawyers police released Hashim Hussain Sahu.
SHEIKHUPURA: Police have arrested dozens of opposition workers and office-bearers. Among the arrested were Naveed Iqbal Kalyar, tehsil PML-N general secretary and Imtiaz Ahmed.
OKARA: The district police have arrested almost the entire local leadership of MMA and JI. Among them were MMA district president Capt Dr Liaqat Ali Kusar retired, general secretary Shahzad Anjum Ansari, district Ameer Sh Azhar Mehmood, Tehrik-i-Islami’s district president Syed Abbas Husain Safvi, Sh Farooq, Hafiz Musaddiq Mohsin and PML-N provincial joint secretary Zahid Mehr Toor.
TOBA TEK SINGH: District police arrested five PML-N activists, including Mian Mujahid Noorpuri, Shahid Javed Jedi, Mirza Abdul Rahim Baig, Sh Arif Gogi and Shabbir Ahmad.
