Police told to arrest ex-armyman for creating fuss

By A Reporter

RAWALPINDI, Sept 25: A civil judge here on Tuesday ordered the police to file a criminal case against a retired serviceman and arrest him for not observing the decorum of the court.

The judge, Masood Akhtar Kiani, directed the police to arrest Ali Asghar, a retired Subedar, for quarrelling with a plaintiff when the court was hearing a civil suit related to mortgage.

When the judge asked Asghar to reply to the accusations of plaintiff, Mohammad Hameed, he started fighting with the latter ignoring repeated orders of the judge.

Asghar not only quarrelled with his opponent but also scuffled with the policemen and abused the staff of the court when they tried to pacify him.

The judge on this occasion ordered the police to register a case against the troublemaker and to send him to jail after registration of criminal case against him.

According to the details of the case, Ali Asghar borrowed Rs200,000 from Hameed and mortgaged some of his property. Hameed moved the court as Asghar had not been repaying his money and creating hurdles in the sale of the mortgaged property.
