QUETTA, Sept 24: Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti, the chief of his own faction of Jamhoori Watan Party, has asked his party’s members of the Balochistan assembly to submit their resignations. He said the resignations would be handed over to the APDM’s high command.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, Mr Bugti said that those MPAs who would not submit their resignations would be considered as disloyal to the cause of Nawab Akbar Bhuti. He said that those who would betray the party would have no role in the JWP.

Mr Bugti condemned the crackdown on APDM’s leaders and workers, saying Gen Pervez Musharraf was frightened of opposition parties’ movement against his re-election attempt.

He predicted that Gen Musharraf’s fate would not be different from that of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.

The JWP leader asserted that the country was in turmoil and its sovereignty in danger. He alleged that government’s policies were creating instability.

Mr Bugti criticised the Chaudhry brothers for their support for Gen Musharraf. He urged the people to support APDM’s movement for toppling the government.

The JWP leader also criticised the government for playing what he called the role of US puppet. He said Gen Musharraf was promoting American interests at the cost of national interests.
