National Jr snooker to be revived

KARACHI, Sept 24: Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) has decided to revive the National Junior Snooker Championship next year, PBSA Chief Asghar Valika said on Monday.

“We could not hold junior competition because of lack of funding and sponsorship. But keeping its importance we have decided to relaunch it to groom the talent for future,” he said.

The championship will be held in the first week of January and after its launching, Pakistan would join the Asian Junior Snooker circuit, disclosed the PBSA chief. “It’s very crucial for the sport and our main objective is to promote the game at the junior level.”

He informed that all the provincial associations have been already been asked to hold trials and select their best junior players for the championship.

Overall 32 cueists picked after trials from across the country will be taking part in the junior circuit.—APP
