10 killed in clash between two groups

By Our Correspondent

LANDI KOTAL, Sept 23: At least 10 people, including three women and two children, were killed and 14 others suffered injuries in clash between two armed groups in the Sambaba area of the Khyber Agency on Sunday.

The exchange of fire between Namdar group and Takia group was continued for 10 hours.

There was no interference by the political administration to stop the firing.

It could not be ascertained which group suffered heavy losses.

The groups had clashed two times before that left two people dead, residents said. Two months ago they clashed over the visit of Lashkar Islami leader Mangal Bagh to the area.

AFP adds: The fighting between the two rival groups was over a business dispute. They fired rockets and mortars at each other, a senior government official said.
