Three of the quintuplets die in Multan

MULTAN, Sept 23: A woman gave birth to quintuplets — four boys and one girl — at Nishtar Hospital here on Sunday.

Dr Sana said that one baby boy died one hour after delivery and two died after some hours while efforts were being made to save the remaining two kids.

She said the delivery of all the five newborn babies was normal, though prematurely, only 25 weeks after the mother conceived them.

Imrana (24), the mother of quintuplets, is the resident of Alipur, Muzaffargarh district.

Dr Sana said that kids were weak, all having weights of only half a kilogram, well below the normal level. She said the four kids were shifted to the paediatric ward where two of them died.

Abdul Qayyum, a Wapda employee at Rahim Yar Khan, said he was worried as doctors told him that chances of his two kids survival were 50 per cent. — Correspondent
