TEHRAN, Sept 23: UN nuclear officials are due in Iran Monday to discuss its progress in developing uranium-enriching centrifuges, part of an agreement between the two sides over Tehran’s disputed nuclear drive, state media said.
“An International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director accompanied by a technical expert will arrive on Monday for four days of discussions,” said the semi-official Mehr news agency, quoting an official source.
“Their objective will be to clear up the questions about the P1 and P2 centrifuges,” it added.
According to IAEA diplomats, Iran had already in August installed almost 2,000 centrifuges at its key nuclear plant in the central town of Natanz.—AFP
