QUETTA, Sept 22: The Anti-Terrorism Court No 2, Quetta has acquitted the provincial leaders of BNP-Mengal and PPP Parliamentarians in treason cases filed by police against them for inciting the people against the government.

ATC judge Abdul Ghais Nausherwani acquitted parliamentary leader of the PPP Parliamentarians in the Balochistan assembly Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani and BNP-M leaders Sajid Tareen advocate and Habib Jalib Baloch advocate after the prosecution failed to produce the evidence against the accused in the treason cases.

The Quetta police had, in April 2006, registered treason cases against these leaders for inciting the people against the government in their speeches in public meetings.
