Wheat imports

WASHINGTON, Sept 22: Pakistan will import 1 million tonnes of wheat as it manages high prices and tight domestic supplies of wheat and wheat flour, a US agricultural attache report said on Friday.

While the Pakistani government sees a bumper wheat crop this year of 23.5 million tonnes, “most private analysts believe this estimate to be at least 1 million tonnes higher than actual production,” the report said.—Reuters
