WASHINGTON, Sept 22: The US State Department re-issued a travel warning for Pakistan on Friday that said the threat of terrorist activity makes non-essential travel there too dangerous.
The warning, superseding one issued 10 months ago, said Americans could be targeted by Al Qaeda and Taliban elements as well as members of sectarian groups active in the country. Pervasive violence in the Middle East could increase the danger not only for Americans but for other Westerners as well, the State Department said.
It warns of the dangers to places where Westerners are known to congregate, mentioning hotels, clubs, restaurants and places of worship.—AP
