Police station’s phone disconnected

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Sept 22: The Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) has disconnected the telephone line of Tarnol police station due to nonpayment of bills for the last six months, sources told Dawn on Saturday.

The PTCL had blocked the outgoing call facility of the police station four months ago. However, the police enjoyed the incoming call facility without paying the utility bills exceeding Rs85,000.

Since the blockade of outgoing facility, the police station staff has been using personal cellphones and wireless set to contact with their officers and carry out departmental work.

However, after the disconnection of the PTCL line, telecommunication link of the public with the police station remains cut off. People have no other option but to visit the police station to register complaints.
