Inquiry declares blast accident

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, Sept 22: A five-member inquiry committee appointed by the district nazim to probe into the cylinder blast in Maan Enterprises on July 25, 2007, has reported to the district nazim that it was an accident and there was no evidence to link it with terrorist activity.

It may be recalled here that five persons had died in the incident of cylinder explosion.

The report submitted to the district nazim on Saturday said that the responsibility of cylinder explosion could not be fixed on anyone as it was a sheer accident.

The inquiry committee comprised of, EDO and DDO revenue, TPO Latifabad, additional controller Civil Defence and nazim UC-14 Latifabad, Nasir Ali Gaddi.

An oxygen cylinder had exploded when cylinders were loaded on a truck on the night of July 25.

Nadra office: The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has established its office at Nasim Nagar to issue National Identity Cards to people of the taluka.

Earlier, the Nadra office had been shifted from the State Life Insurance Company building on Thandi Sarak to Latifabad.

The people of Qasimabad taluka had protested against the shifting of the office on the plea that it was inconvenient for them to travel to Latifabad to get their NICs prepared.

The nazim UC-2 Qasimabad, Mehboob Abro has thanked Nadra for accepting the demand of the people by shifting the office to Naseem Nagar.

NARCOTICS: The district nazim Hyderabad, Kanwar Naveed Jamil, has directed the district police to take effective measures to check the sale of country-made liquor which was extremely hazardous to human life.
