Punjab govt deflates ego of ‘divine man’

ISLAMABAD, Sept 21: Gujar Khan’s so-called divine man Badshah Ghousia Qalandar Sarkar had been driving in VIP style on a fake authority, according to the government of Punjab.

A government spokesman said in Lahore on Friday that “the Chief Minister’s directive presented by the so-called divine man (to police) is absolutely fake”.

The spokesman was responding to a Dawn report published on September 19 that the Sarkar had flaunted an authority letter issued in the name of the Chief Minister when the Gujar Khan police stopped his car for using flashing light and hooter and flying a religious flag against the rules.

Although the police did not detain the car, it obtained a copy of the letter for verifying its authenticity with the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Lahore.
