ISLAMABAD, Sept 21: The youth are angry; and rightly, so because of the injustices they see around them. But the up-coming general elections can be an opportunity for them to give a positive direction to their anxieties.

And this was precisely what Freedomgate Pakistan, in collaboration with the Friedrich Naumann Stiftung, working for liberation of the Pakistani youth, emphasized on Friday —make young voters the most powerful voice in Pakistan.

Through the launch of an awareness-raising video, specially for the first-time young voter, titled “Chun Liya Mein Ne Tumhain” (I have chosen you) the two organizations sent a strong message to the Pakistani youth to exercise their right of franchise to make a difference.

The brief video was shown to a select group of youngsters, who were members of the Future Youth Group that encourages youth contributions for a better society.

As many as 40 members were present from various Pakistani cities in Pakistan. They would now convey this message to other youngsters when they return home. It is, however, difficult to say how many youth will they be able to reach with mass viewing of this awareness-raising video through advertisements or short documentaries on television.

To convey this message in a meaningful way the writer of the message in the skit, Irfan Ahmed Urfi, wrote a life-like situation, which gradually and unexpectedly lead the young audience towards the key message given in the end.
