THATTA, Sept 20: Police on Thursday finally lodged an FIR against unidentified persons for stealing research papers and valuable items of a French scholar, Ms Florence Alias Farida Boryak, after intervention of the officials of French consulate.

The scholar was deprived of her research papers on Buddhism in China and India and Sufism in Pakistan a couple of days ago while she was asleep at the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ashabi at Makli at night.

Some officials from the Consulate General of France led by Didier Drevel, deputy police attaché of International Technical Police Cooperation Department France and PPP MPA Humera Alwani helped the scholar get FIR lodged.

The scholar is still staying in Thatta and insists she will move until the recovery of her belongings.—Correspondent
