LPG prices raised again

Published September 21, 2007

LAHORE, Sept 20: The liquefied petroleum gas marketing companies on Thursday again raised prices by Rs2 per kg.

LPG Distributors Association chairman Irfan Khokhar said that this was the second increase during the current week which had pushed the price from Rs51 to Rs55 per kg. The domestic cylinder rate had gone up by Rs110 and commercial cylinder by Rs440.

He said the prices were being raised on the pretext of costly imports despite the fact that only 5,000 tons of LPG had been imported in September which was two per cent of the local production.
