Two mills sealed for overcharging

LAHORE, Sept 19: The Food Department has sealed two flourmills for overcharging, a meeting was told here on Wednesday.

According to a handout, a meeting of the provincial price control committee was told that the mills — one in Shahdara and the other in Laliani, Kasur — were sealed for selling 20kg flour bags for Rs320 each instead of officially set price of Rs285.

Punjab Food Minister Husain Jehanian Gardezi presided over the meeting, which was also attended by Local Government and Law Minister Basharat Raja, Industries Minister Muhammad Ajmal Cheema, Chief Secretary Salman Siddique and mill representatives.

The meeting also reviewed flour supply to markets and its price, and rates of fruits and vegetables in all districts of the province.
