TEXTBOOKS: Hundreds of fifth class students of government primary schools in the district could not get free textbooks.

Most of the parents have to purchase textbooks from the market as the education department have fallen down on the job of arranging free books to all students under the chief minister’s “Parha Likha Punjab” programme.

Pirmahal’s assistant education officer Rafiq Tahir admitted that there were over 1,000 students in the town, but not a single student could get textbooks.
