238 wanted people held

ISLAMABAD, Sept 18: The local police have arrested 238 people in their campaign against criminals wanted in connection with murders, robberies and vehicle thefts.

A spokesman for the police said on Tuesday that those who had been taken into custody also included proclaimed offenders, court absconders and army deserters.

He said 21 proclaimed offenders, 49 court absconders and two army deserters were captured in the City Police Circle, comprising Aapbara and Kohsar police stations.

Six proclaimed offenders, 18 court absconders and an army deserter were arrested in the Margalla Police Circle, comprising Margalla and Shalimar police stations.

Eleven proclaimed offenders and two court absconders were nabbed in the Industrial Area Police Circle, comprising Industrial Area and Sabzi Mandi police stations.

Fourteen proclaimed offenders, 10 court absconders and three army deserters were detained in the Saddar Police Circle, comprising Golra and Tarnol police stations.

Four proclaimed offenders, 44 court absconders and 11 army deserters were arrested in the Secretariat Police Circle, comprising Secretariat and Bhara Kahu police stations.

Twenty-seven proclaimed offenders, 11 court absconders and four army deserters were captured in the Rural Police Circle, comprising Shahzad Town and Sihala police stations.
