TIMERGARA, Sept 17: Hundreds of people took to the streets here on Monday to protest against loadshedding, low voltage and non-availability of drinking water in the month of Ramazan.

The protesters blocked the Dir-Peshawar road for three hours and chanted slogans against Pesco. They also forced the closure of shops.

The rally was addressed by Councillor Akhunzada Salim Gul, Azhar Taqweem and Akhunzada Faizur Rahman.

They criticised Pesco and said that the authorities concerned had not met the demands of the people to end the unscheduled loadshedding. They blamed the authorities for forcing them to come out on the roads.

They complained that due to low voltage, water supply had been affected in the area. They regretted that people were being forced to buy high-priced electricity generators. They threatened that they would attack the grid station if authorities failed to stop the loadshedding by September 19.
