THATTA : PPP welcomes announcement

THATTA, Sept 17: Hundreds of Pakistan People’s Party workers, led by party’s MPA Sassui Palijo, brought out a rally to celebrate Ms Benazir Bhutto’s announcement that she would return to her homeland on Oct 18. The rally was part of wider preparations to generate momentum for the welcome of the self-exiled leader.

The party activists also staged a motor procession, which started from the coastal town of Mirpur Sakro and terminated at the party’s district headquarters in Thatta on Sunday.Ms Palijo said that the Benazir’s return would change the entire political scenario of not only Pakistan but the entire region. The days of fundamentalism, terrorism, extremism, poverty and illiteracy were numbered now and the fate of the country was bound to undergo a change, she said.—Correspondent
