Robbers kill textile mill guard

KASUR, Sept 16: Six robbers shot dead a security guard and injured another during a robbery attempt at a textile mill in Phoolnagar police precincts on Sunday.

Security guards Muhammad Ayub and Fateh Muhammad were on guard at Tri Tex Cotton Mills when robbers tried to enter the mill. The guards tried to stop them and an encounter ensued. As a result, Ayub died at the scene and Fateh Muhammad was injured critically. He was taken to Jinnah Hospital in Lahore. Robbers fled with the guards’ weapons.

MOTORCYCLIST LOOTED: Three robbers deprived a man of his motorcycle, gold ornaments, cell phone and valuables in Sadar police precincts on Sunday. Goldsmith Muhammad Naeem of Khanqa Morr was on his way from Phoolnagar to Thatha Otar on his motorcycle when the robbers looted him.

TWO HOUSES ROBBED: Two doctors were deprived of gold ornaments, cash and valuables in separate incidents on Sunday.

Four robbers stormed into Dr Ali’s house near Tayab Shaheed Hospital in Khudian police precincts and fled with 10 tola gold ornaments and Rs50,000.

Separately, eight robbers entered Dr Gohar Saeed Shah’s house near Fatehpur Basic Health Unit, held the family hostage and fled with gold ornaments, cash, cell phones and valuables.

MAN DIES ON ROAD: A man was killed and another wounded when a speedy truck hit their motorcycle on Pattoki Road. Muhammad Imran and his friend Nawaz Ahmed were on their way from Pattoki to Bhopaywal when a speeding truck hit them near Galan Railway crossing. Imran died at the scene and Ahmed was injured seriously. He was taken to Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital.
