KARACHI, Sept 16: The University of Karachi will reopen on Monday amid tight security measures after remaining closed for two days in the aftermath of an attack on a bus outside the campus killing four university students on Sept 13.
This was announced by a senior official of the institution on Sunday.
He said that only KU students and employees would be allowed entry to the campus. Students had been advised to prominently display their varsity ID cards at the entrance points and while they remained at the campus, he added.
He said that the university’s main entrance, the Silver Jubilee Gate, would be used exclusively for pedestrians and no vehicle would be allowed entrance through this gate. However, permitted vehicles could use Maskan, Staff Town and Metroville gates, he added.
The KU official said that students would have to park their vehicles outside the main entrance as all entry passes had been cancelled.
There would be no public dealing on Monday and Tuesday and all public dealing counters would remain closed, he added.
