Ahmed Shahzad ton leads Lahore Ravi to big win: U-19 Regional one-day cricket

KARACHI, Sept 15: A brilliant century from Ahmed Shahzad inspired Lahore Ravi to a crushing 194-run victory over Karachi Harbour in the second round of the PCB Under-19 Regional One-day Cricket Championship on Saturday.
Lahore Ravi amassed 333 for five in their 50 overs after being asked to bat first. Ahmed blasted 14 fours and one six in scoring 109 off 82 deliveries while dominating the opening stand of 205 with Jumma Khan, who struck a 71-ball 87 with the aid of 11 fours and a brace of sixes.
Karachi Harbour lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 139 in just 26 overs. Opener Mohammad Waqas made 56 off 63 balls with 11 hits to the fence.
Karachi Urban, meanwhile, continued their winning run by defeating Quetta by 62 runs at the Bugti Stadium in Quetta.
Skipper Shan Masood (54 off 50 balls, eight fours) and Hafiz Asad Baig (49 off 94 balls, seven fours) added 81 for the second wicket to help Karachi Urban score 221 in 49 overs.
Quetta replied with 159 in 48.3 overs.
Islamabad defeated Peshawar by 62 runs after piling up 326 for seven at the Arbab Niaz Stadium. The opening batsman was Islamabad’s batting star with a fine 124 off 122 balls. His knock was laced with 12 fours and six sixes.
Skipper Umar Amin (86 not out off 110 balls, six fours and two sixes) led Rawalpindi to an easy eight-wicket win against Abbottabad at the Army Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
In other matches, Sialkot beat Multan by four wickets and Hyderabad defeated Lahore Ravi by five wickets.
