NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Sept 15: A large number of primary school teachers staged a rally and a sit-in on the Mithiani-Moro road on Saturday in protest against registration of FIR against one of their colleagues.

The protesters led by district president of Primary Teachers Association, Pir Muzaffar, complained that Fareedpur police station had registered a false case about robbery and kidnapping of a girl against a primary teacher, Shah Nawaz Chandio.

They said that SHO Mazhar Jatoi had implicated the teacher in the case to extract bribe and demanded that the higher authorities intervene in the matter to force police to withdraw the case.

KILLED: Unknown gunmen shot dead one Abdul Hafeez, 25, when he was irrigating his fields in Phulli village near Kotri Kabir late on Friday night.

People of the area termed the murder revenge killing. He was killed in revenge for one Ali Murad Solangi who was killed about one and a half years ago, they said.

Mehrabpur police registered a case against Pasha, Amanullah, Daim, Rano, Allah Warayo and Hakim and arrested Rano and Allah Warayo.
