RAWALPINDI, Sept 15: An additional district and sessions judge here on Saturday directed the Federal Investigation Agency’s ((FIA) Passport Cell not to harass an expatriate and asked the director of the agency to submit his written comments to the court on September 19.
Judge Malik Sajid Awan sought the comments of the FIA director on the complaint of Raja Badarul Islam, a resident of Iqbal Colony, accusing the FIA of harassing him.
Mr Islam, in his petition, said he was settled in Italy and married his daughter with his nephew Irfan Najib in 2004.
He helped Irfan acquire Italian visa and settle there in 2006 and bore all his expense. He asked his sister, mother of Irfan, to organise the Rukhsati of his daughter.
In replying the boy’s family demanded Rs2 million which he refused to pay and the boy divorced his daughter in February 2007.
In August 2007 he came to Pakistan to marry off his two sons and received a call from Irfan who demanded the money again and threatened him of dire consequences if the money was not given to him.
The petitioner alleged that Afzal Khan Niazi, an ASI in FIA Rawalpindi and a relative of Irfan asked him to pay the money to Irfan otherwise he would be implicated in an immigration case.
He further alleged that some days ago Irfan along with the ASI raided his house in a bid to kidnap his daughter.
DOCTOR SENT TO JAIL: A civil judge sent a doctor to Adiala Jail on judicial remand for 14 days for allegedly giving narcotics injections to a teenager who died some two weeks ago.
The body of Sheikh Abdul Qadir, 17, was found in a plot on August 19. His father told the police that Dr Saleem had given narcotics injections to his son which caused his death. On Saturday the police told the area magistrate that they had recovered injections from the doctor and did not require his custody anymore.
The father of the deceased has been alleging that the main accused Malik Hassan and Adnan alias Andi, the friends of Qadir, have not been arrested by the police.
He said these two called his son out of his house and later informed his wife that the body of Qadir was lying in a deserted place. These boys later disappeared from the scene and were not helping the police in solving the mystery.
