MIRPURKHAS, Sept 15: A widow appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan on Saturday to provide her justice by ordering re-inquiry into her husband’s murder, which she alleged had been spoiled by her in-laws.
Ms Asghari Begum, widow of Abdul Meo Rajput, said at a news conference at the press club some gunmen killed her husband in Mamora village in Kot Ghulam Muhammad on Jan 27, 2000 and accused her relatives Mamora, Abdul Rehman, Abdul Rahim, Sher Mohammed, Aslam and Abdul Sattar of being involved in the murder.
She argued that immediately after the murder they sold off 16 acres of agriculture land owned by her late husband through forgery and occupied 12 acres more.
She regretted that the remaining 52 acres were rendered barren after her opponents stopped water to the land. He family’s opponents had implicated her sons in false and fabricated cases after offering bribes to police, she charged.
She accused Mohammed Ayub Lashari, Yaqoob Arain and Ghani Gorchani of being involved in blackmailing her and her brother Mohammed Ramzan by threats. They had once demanded Rs50,000 from her and her brother. The opponents had also occupied a shop owned by her late husband in the main bazaar of Jhilori town, she said.
She said that when she went to media persons and local authorities for justice her opponents threatened them to leave the village or get her sons killed.
She urged the higher authorities to provide justice to her and order re-inquiry.
