WASHINGTON, Sept 14: The United States has condemned the suicide bombing in Tarbela Ghazi which claimed lives of several soldiers on Thursday.“We condemn this vicious attack on Pakistan military personnel and offer our deepest condolences to the families of the victims,” a State Department spokesman said.

“There can be no justification for such attacks,” Greg Sullivan, Director, Press and Public Diplomacy for South and Central Asia, said, when asked to comment on the incident.

The US, he stated, valued Pakistan’s efforts to make the region and the world a safer place.

He renewed Washington’s commitment to work closely with the ally in countering terrorism.

“We appreciate Pakistan’s efforts in the ongoing campaign against international terrorism,” he said, while acknowledging the sacrifices the Pakistani nation and its security forces had rendered in counter-terrorism.—APP
