Pakistan part of Twenty20 league: BCCI

NEW DELHI, Sept 14: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday allayed apprehensions regarding Pakistan’s participation in Twenty20 Champions League scheduled to take place next year in October.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is very much a part of five initial governing cricket boards that have come together to launch the Twenty20 Champions League,” Vice-President of the BCCI Lalit Modi said in a press release. Other boards are the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Cricket Australia (CA), Cricket South Africa (CSA) besides the BCCI.

“The PCB will undoubtedly be a part of the inaugural Champions League, especially since Pakistan has been playing an official Twenty20 league for the last three years and it has been highly successful,” Modi said, adding that the PCB is also one of the four contenders that could host inaugural edition of the League. –Agencies
