PESHAWAR : IJT assails Karachi killings

Published September 15, 2007

PESHAWAR, Sept 14: Activists of the Islami Jamiat-i-Talaba (IJT) organised demonstrations all over the NWFP on Friday in protest against Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s alleged hooliganism in Karachi.

They blocked the G.T. Road for two hours. They were shouting slogans against the MQM, claiming the Sindh-based party was behind the murder of several IJT activists in Karachi.

Terming the incident one of the worst examples of state terrorism, they said the Sindh government was under the influence of the MQM and it was backing the All Pakistan Mohajir Students Organisation.

According to them, the aforesaid organisation was involved in attacking the Karachi University bus in which five IJT workers were killed and eight others injured.

Terming the attack pre-meditated, IJT leaders said their activists were being killed in Karachi and there was no one to stop the terrorists.—PPI
