Water supply scheme restored

By Our Correspondent

MANSEHRA, Sept 13: A water supply scheme in Allai area, badly damaged in the Oct 2005 earthquake, has been restored by Unicef. The restoration work will benefit over 5,500 earthquake survivors.

A ceremony was held on Thursday to mark the opening of the scheme. The ceremony was attended, among others, by Unicef’s country representative Martin Magwanja.

Mr Magwanja said that Unicef was supporting restoration of the water scheme as it wanted all children to get safe drinking water which was essential for their healthy growth and to increase their immunity to combat different diseases. He said Unicef would continue helping the affected people.
