PESHAWAR, Sept 13: The Capital City Police have further tightened security in and around the provincial capital to ward off the possibility of any untoward incident during the holy month of Ramazan.
Contingents of police have been deputed at all sensitive points, including mosques, roads and bazaars. Closed-circuit cameras have also been installed to ensure security of the people.
Police in plain clothes would also man the areas in order to look out for suspects, a spokesman for the Police Department, told APP on Thursday.
Capital City Police Chief Abdul Majeed Marwat and SSP Operations Tahir Khan would supervise the security arrangements.
Similarly, law-enforcement agencies would keep a vigilant eye on activities of suspected elements.
To ensure smooth flow of traffic in congested areas, the strength of traffic police had been enhanced, he added.
He said in order to curb activities of anti-social elements, all exit and entry points of Peshawar had been fully manned.—APP
