GUJRANWALA, Sept 11: A case has been registered against 280 leaders and workers of the All Parties Democratic Movement, who staged a rally here on Tuesday to denounce the deportation of Nawaz Sharif.

Later, police arrested Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) City President Rauf Mughal, Secretary-General Sarwat Ikram and Muhammad Saeed Mughal for participating in the rally.

PML-N leader and former federal minister Ghulam Dastgir Khan, former provincial minister Usman Ibrahim, former member of the Punjab Assembly SA Hameed and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal City President Bilal Qudrat are among those against whom a case has been registered under the Maintenance of Public Order.

The APDM rally, which started from Sheranwala Bagh and ended at Old Railway Station, was led by Ghulam Dastgir Khan. The rally participants raised slogans against the government and called for return of the exiled leaders.
