Contempt petition

ISLAMABAD, Sept 10: PML-N leader Khawaja Mohammad Asif on Monday filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking its direction to produce and prevent deportation of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to Saudi Arabia soon after his arrival at the Islamabad airport.

“This Honourable Court may graciously direct and restrain the federal and provincial governments, their functionaries, law-enforcement agencies and all other agencies operating in Pakistan from deporting Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif from the territory of Pakistan,” a three-page contempt of the court petition said.When the petition was submitted under Article 204 of the Constitution, Nawaz Sharif was present at the airport and was charged with money laundering.
