MARDAN, Sept 10: Jamaat-i-Islami Chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed has said the return of Mian Nawaz Sharif to the country and his subsequent deportation proved that the military rulers had no respect for human rights and ethics.

Speaking to party workers at Umarabad, a remote village of Mardan district, by telephone here on Monday, he condemned the forced exile of a citizen from the country and termed it a denial of basic human rights.

He said that a few generals ruling the country were busy in transferring huge wealth and national assets abroad but the people would not allow them to do so.

He also condemned both Asif Ali Zardari and Ms Benazir Bhutto for trying to bail out Pervez Musharraf from the present situation just to get back their one billion dollars.

He claimed that earlier Zardari had denied owning Surrey Palace in the UK but now he (Zardari) was fighting a case over it.

He urged the workers to make successful the call of a ‘black day’ against the rulers and appealed to the lawyers’ community and political parties to be present at the Supreme Court on the occasion of a hearing on Sept 17 against the dual post of Pervez Musharraf.

Former Senior Minister NWFP Sirajul Haque also addressed the gathering.

LAWYERS HOLD PROTEST: The lawyers’ community of Mardan and Takhtbai tehsils held a protest demonstration against the kidnapping of an advocate and demanded that he be recovered immediately. The demonstration was headed by General Secretary of the District Bar Association Mardan, Abdul Ahad Khan advocate.

The lawyers raised slogans against the kidnappings for ransom from Mardan and demanded the recovery of Younus Khan advocate.

The protesters, while giving a two-day deadline for the lawyer’s recovery, demanded the abolition of the Malakand Agency and its conversion into a settled area.

It may be added here that Younus Khan, who belongs to Takhtbai tehsil, was abducted by unidentified men two days back near his house.
