Interim challan submitted

HYDERABAD, Sept 10: The Hussainabad police have submitted interim challan in the three-day-old infant Dua’s kidnapping case in the court of the civil judge and judicial magistrate-X here on Monday. Police also produced prosecution witnesses including mother and aunt of the baby and two other women and got their statements recorded.

Now identification parade of the accused, including two women Kausar and Safia who are alleged to have kidnapped the infant, will be conducted before the court.

Dua’s mother Ms Feroza, paternal aunt Shamim, Bano Parveen and her mother Waheedan recorded their statements under sections 164 Cr.PC, accusing Safia of kidnapping the baby on August 19. Feroza told the court that Safia arrived in the hospital on August 18 and stayed till she kidnapped the baby on August 19. She said Dua was born to her on August 16 and when she went to toilet, Safia took away the baby in the presence of Bano Parveen and Waheedan.

The civil judge and judicial magistrate remanded Javed Iqbal, husband of Safia, Nasir Abbas, husband of Kausar, and Rafiq alias Jadoogar to police custody for three days. Safia and Kausar are in judicial custody remand for interrogation. The Supreme Court is monitoring investigation through the PPO Sindh Ziaul Hassan.
