Nawaz himself chose to leave country: Pervaiz

LAHORE, Sept 10: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has said it was binding on Sharif brothers to stick to the agreement they reached with the Saudi government. He was talking to electronic media here on Monday, a handout said. The chief minister said Sharif brothers had been lying to the nation about the agreement with Saudi authorities, but ultimately at a press conference they admitted the fact. He said it was a fact that Nawaz Sharif had requested the Saudi authorities to come to his rescue.

He claimed that on Monday at Islamabad airport Nawaz Sharif had the option to go to prison or to leave the country, and he once again decided to go to Saudi Arabia. The chief minister said tall claims of the PML-N had been exposed and Nawaz Sharif’s changing of stance on the issue of agreement had frustrated his supporters who refused to take to the streets.

He said only those elements had been detained who tried to take law in their hands as maintenance of law and order was the responsibility of the government. He said if `irresponsible’ elements had been allowed to enter Islamabad airport they could have damaged aircrafts of foreign airlines.
