LAHORE, Sept 9: A Pakistan Army soldier was stabbed to death allegedly by an addict in the Tibbi city police precincts on Sunday, police say.

Trooper Khaliq Ahmed, 30, of Noshehra and posted in Gujranwala, arrived in the city on Saturday and went to the Iqbal Park. There Khaliq and Basheer, an addict, got involved in a clash over some issue. Flying in a fit of rage, Basheer took out a sharp edged weapon and injured Khaliq.

Basheer tried to escape from the place but injured Khaliq chased him. Near the Lahore Fort, he held his attacker and injured him using a sharp edged weapon. Both were taken to the Mayo Hospital where Khaliq died while Basheer was stated to be out of danger.

Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and arrested the addict after registering a case against him. —Staff Reporter
