KASUR, Sept 9: Two people threw acid on the face of a would-be bride allegedly to avenge an old family dispute with her groom in Dhako village in Chunian police station.

Naik Bibi had to marry Mushtaq today (Monday) but groom’s former brothers-in-law, Sarwar and Liaqat, stormed her house where wedding ceremonies were going on in full swing on Sunday, threw acid on her face and fled.

Mushtaq had divorced assailants’ sister a few months ago and the assailants had nourished grudge against him.

Naik Bibi was taken to a hospital in Lahore owing to her critical condition. The police started investigation.

ACCIDENT: A boy was killed while eight people were injured when a motorbike hit a motorcycle-rickshaw at Halla Road in Pattoki city police precincts on Sunday.

Muhammad Arshad and his two pillions were riding on a motorbike from Halla to Chak 15 when a speedy rickshaw coming from opposite direction hit them near Chado Morr.

An 18-year-old boy, Ali Raza, was killed on the spot while eight people including Arshad, Shakeel Abbas, Nasreen, Hajra and Mevish were hospitalised. Later, Arshad, Nasreen and Hajra were taken to Jinnah Hospital in Lahore. The police are investigating.

KILLED: A woman was allegedly clubbed to death over a petty dispute in Naroke Mahja in Pattoki city police jurisdiction on Sunday.

Hussna Bibi had barred Liaqat Ali from passing through her street along with his cattle. This annoyed Liaqat and he called his brothers Rafique, Muhammad Aslam and a relative woman, Azra Bibi, who later thrashed Hussna Bibi with clubs.

She succumbed to her injuries on her way to the hospital.
