PESHAWAR, Sept 9: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) is extending its network to Afghanistan and will be opening new branches in Herat and Mazar-i-Sharif soon, a statement issued on Sunday said.

Addressing a ceremony here, NBP senior vice-president Dr Mirza Abrar Baig said the bank had already established a branch in Kabul.

Mr Baig said the bank had reserved a quota for women and ten per cent branches across the country would be headed by women officers.

He claimed that the NBP had been making progress and was the most profitable institution in the country.

Syed Ali Raza was awarded the best banker in Asia on the occasion.
