Two brothers among five killed over land row

MUZAFFARGARH, Sept 8: Five people, including two brothers, were shot dead over a land dispute here on Saturday at Sanawan, some 50km from Muzaffargarh city. Reports said Haji Muhammad Gashkori had a land dispute with two brothers Sadiq Husain and Abdul Aziz, Ghulam Husain, Allah Divaya and Allah Bakhsh. On Friday evening, he exchanged hot words with them and warned them that he would come to kill them at night. On Saturday early morning, Haji Gashkori forced his entry into the house of Sadiq and Aziz and shot them dead during asleep. Later, he went to the houses of Ghulam Husain, Allah Divaya and Allah Bakhsh and gunned them down.

Local people said Haji Gashkori went from one house to the other on foot and killed five men during an hour. The family of Sadiq and Aziz nominated three accused in the FIR. When contacted a police official said: “We have arrested two nominated accused — Aslam (18) and Iqbal (28). However, Haji Muhammad Gashkori is still at large.” — Correspondent
