Kumble to star at HK Sixes

HONG KONG, Sept 6: India’s record Test wicket-taker Anil Kumble will star at Hong Kong’s International Sixes tournament later this year, organisers said on Thursday, but Australian legend Shane Warne is still in doubt.

Kumble, whose leg-spin has taken 566 Test wickets in a lengthy career, will be joined by compatriot Virender Sehwag, and Zimbabwe paceman Heath Streak.

Another four international players, possibly to include Warne, will be announced in the run-up to the two-day tournament which begins here on Oct 27, a spokesman for the event told reporters.

Previous reports have said Warne is likely to play, and his brother and manager Jason Warne was in Hong Kong on Thursday to try and finalise negotiations, a spokesman for the event said.—AFP
