Sindh, Army dominate cadet, junior boxing

LAHORE, Sept 6: Sindh and Pakistan Army dominated the opening day of the 5th national cadet and junior boxing championships at Atiq Stadium on Wednesday night.

While most of the fights were one-sided, Abdul Razzaq of

Navy beat Orangzaib of KPT 25-21 in a close 51kg junior class bout.

Results:

Cadet:

46kg: Waqas Khan (KESC) bt Kashif Khan (NWFP) Referee Stopped Contest (RSC); Mohammad Nauman (Army) bt Mohammad Afzal (Punjab) 18-5.

48kg: Majid Musa (KPT) bt Mohammad Raza (Balochistan) 33-20.

50kg: Musheer Khan (Sindh) bt Dilawar Khan (NWFP) 23-04; Mohammad Qasim (Army) bt Fazal Khan 6-4; Syed Murtaza (Balochistan) bt Mohammad Waqas (Punjab) 14-12.

52 kg: Shahid Qambrani (Sindh) bt Junaid Mohammad (NWFP) RSC; Sana Ullah (KPT) bt Safar Ali (Balochistan) 14-4.

54 kg: Qasim (Sindh) bt Hasnain (KPT) 22-10; Azmat Shah (Army) bt M. Mehdhi (Balochistan) RSC.

Juniors:

48kg: Sikandar Khan (Sindh) bt Shehrooz Jan (Punjab) 20-09; Abdul Waheed (KPT) bt Haroon (NWFP) RSC.

51kg: Abdul Razzaq (Navy) bt Orangzaib (KPT) 25-21.
